Unity is one of the
goals of composition. Achieving unity relies on a basic
knowledge of the formal elements and an understanding of other basic design
principles, such as balance, emphasis, and rhythm - being able to organize
elements and establish a common bond among them.
Correspondence,
continuity, variety, alignment, flow, movement are
necessary principles or devices to employ in order to achieve unity.
